How does MILS for Business work?

Individual employees

Individual employees who are going to start a long training program can greatly benefit from an MILS inventory. Once these employees know how they can learn more effectively and efficiently, they can complete their training program more easily and with more pleasure.

For example, employees who are going to start a mobility program can gain insights into their strengths and weaknesses.

They can receive advice on what direction and training is appropriate based on their own wishes and the results of the MILS survey.

The process explained

MILS for Business is administered via Teams, Zoom or in person by a certified MILS Coach

What do we do individually?

  • An appointment with a MILS coach is scheduled. This can be done live or online via Zoom or Teams.
  • The inventory takes about 1.5 hours.
  • Based on the request for help, the MILS coach writes a short report with the recommendations and suggestions that have emerged from the inventory.

MILS for teams

If the company has hired a new group of employees who will go through a training program together, MILS inventory offers significant benefits:

1. As a result, the individual training process runs more smoothly, as clear tools and tips are provided to accelerate and improve learning.
2. In the group workshops (maximum 12 participants), the participants get to know each other and each other’s preferences. This immediately improves mutual understanding and creates a new language to talk about working together. For the mentors/supervisors of the new employees, the tools that are provided are very pragmatically applicable.

It is important that the mentors/supervisors themselves are also familiar with their own MILS profiles. Separate workshops are often given for this group.

What do we do for teams?

The set-up of the workshops can be customized for every organization. The following method has worked well for various governments (ministries, courts, municipalities) and in healthcare:

Select the groups of participants based on a need that exists. For example, they have to learn a lot themselves, or their position requires them to supervise employees (master-apprentice situations), or they have a supervisory task to ensure that an employee who the organization has heavily invested in can make optimal use of his or her talents.

A group has a maximum of 12 participants

Online intakes are conducted with all participants.
During these intakes it is checked whether the participants will indeed benefit from an MILS inventory.
The MILS profile is taken.
The participant gains insight into her/his own learning and work preferences.
Based on all MILS profiles of a group, a 3-hour workshop is developed that consists of:

An hour of further explanation of the six MILS learning and work preferences.
Split up into groups for an hour to discuss the questions that arise with regard to your own profiles, led by an MILS coach, and to delve into each other’s profiles in this small group.
One hour of feedback on what happened in the subgroups led by an MILS coach.
This hour focuses on the question: how do we communicate and work together? How can that be done more efficiently?
After a week, a report is provided to and discussed with the participants.
When all workshops have been completed, a final evaluation is sent to the organization

These workshops are provided both live and online by a certified MILS coach
